We've implemented an improved Emergency Contact Information system to ensure the safety and well-being of all officials. This feature helps organizations maintain up-to-date emergency contact details for all users in the Directory.
Automatic Prompts: Officials will now be prompted to complete their emergency contact information during:
Initial onboarding process
On the home page of their dashboard when they log in (if information is incomplete)
Required Fields: Name, Relationship, Phone number
Directory, New Button/Report: Emergency Contacts
Messaging Center, New Column: Emergency Contact Completed
Easily identify officials with incomplete emergency information
Filter and select multiple officials for bulk communication
Track completion status at a glance
Directory: Click the Emergency Contacts button to display a report of all Emergency Contact information for everyone in the Directory.
Message Center
Navigate to the Message Center
Display the "Emergency Contact Completed" column through Actions/Columns
Filter for officials showing No status
Select officials who need to update their information
Send a reminder message using the template below, or create your own message
Subject: Important: Update Your Emergency Contact Information
Dear Official,
Safety is our top priority in officiating, and we need your help to ensure we can support you in any situation.
Why Emergency Contacts Matter: We require emergency contact information to protect you and provide immediate assistance if an unexpected medical situation were to arise during an assignment. Having a reliable contact ensures that the right person can be reached quickly if needed.
What You Need to Do: In the Ref Insight web portal or mobile app:
Go to Home β> View Profile β> Edit Profile
Scroll to the Emergency Contacts section
Enter:
Emergency Contact Name
Relationship to You
Primary Phone Number
Optional: Second Phone Number
This action takes less than 2 minutes and could make a critical difference in ensuring the correct person is contacted in case of an emergency.
Who Should Be Your Emergency Contact?
Choose someone who:
Can be reached quickly
Knows your medical history
Can make decisions on your behalf if needed
For Minor Officials: A Parent or Guardian must be listed as the emergency contact.
Deadline: We strongly urge you to update your information within the next 72 hours.
