Overview
Part 2 of the Import Tool tutorial series is now available! While Part 1 covered creating a Competition and importing new schedules and matches, Part 2 shows you how to import updates to existing matches in Manual mode β bringing in date and time changes, match status, new column data like finance codes, and updated team names all from a single file, rather than editing matches one at a time. This tutorial walks through the staging workflow's duplicate detection and update review in detail.
Feature Details
π€ Import Updates from a File (Full-Access Administrators & Assignors)
What's New:
Update existing matches in bulk by importing an updated Excel file instead of editing match details individually
Auto Map Columns automatically picks up any new columns you've added since your last import
Edit values directly in the Grid preview, and let the tool auto-detect date and time formats
Auto Detect Site Mappings recognizes sites from the Competition's import history, so you don't have to remap them
π Review Possible Duplicates
What's New:
Staging flags possible duplicate matches and ranks them in the Duplicate Rank column, with Same Match ID ranked highest
Use Auto Detect All Perfect Matches to clear matches with no differences in one step
Link a possible duplicate to an existing match, or create it as a new match
β Accept or Dismiss Proposed Changes
What's New:
See exactly what's changing β each difference is listed in the Diff Detail column, and every match carries a Pending, Accepted, or Dismissed disposition
Click Accept PROPOSED Changes Only to apply the import's updates, or Dismiss to acknowledge the change while leaving Ref Insight untouched
In the Updated Matches area, the tool surfaces matches whose details match but that have new data in previously empty columns β select individually, use the plus sign, or Select All, then Update Selected Matches

Part 4 β Synced Mode: Import Updates: Keep your synced schedules and matches up to date.
A Quick Tip
There's currently a limit of 20 columns that can be mapped per import, so delete any empty columns from your file before importing. We're expanding this limit soon.
