Dear Ref Insight Users,
Here's a helpful tip to ensure you're making the most of all available officials in your area, particularly as new referee classes are being held in the Fall.
Tip: Check for Newly Added Officials and Add Them to Pools
Regularly checking for newly added officials in the Directory and adding them to relevant pools can help you quickly utilize newly certified officials for matches.
Why is this important?
- Ensures a larger pool of available officials for assignments
- Gives new officials opportunities to gain experience
- Helps manage workload across a wider group of officials
How to do it:
1. You can regularly check the Directory for newly added officials, or find them directly from the Pools area
2. Add appropriate officials to relevant pools
3. Consider these officials when making new assignments
For a detailed guide on this process, please refer to our tutorial:

Best Practice:
Set a recurring task (e.g., weekly or bi-weekly) to review the Directory for new officials. This habit will help you maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive pool of officials for assignments.
We are working on incorporating the Years of Experience item from the U.S. Soccer Learning Center into the Directory Import and in various places across the platform such as the Assigning Workspace and UPP. Stay tuned to the Changelog for an announcement on this upcoming feature.
